About César

Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, César M. García is a business executive, corporate director, entrepreneur and inventor with more than four decades in medical devices and diagnostics and a deep understanding of the U.S. healthcare system.

Before founding itracHEALTH in Miami, he was Chairman, President and CEO of IRIS International, Inc. (NASDAQ: IRIS), which Danaher Corporation acquired in 2012. Earlier he held senior roles at Cytometrics, Datascope and Bayer Diagnostics (Technicon), and he has served as a director of public and private companies and trade organizations, including AdvaMed and its diagnostics division, AdvaMedDx, BioFire Diagnostics and the Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association. At BioFire he led the board special committee that sold the company to bioMérieux. He was a 2012 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year finalist in Greater Los Angeles.

He holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, cum laude, from the University of Puerto Rico and an Advanced Management Certificate from Pace University. He earned the Board Director Certification from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and was named an NACD Leadership Fellow by the National Association of Corporate Directors, both in 2014. His honors include the F.W. Taylor Medal from the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, the 2013 Gabelli Funds Management Hall of Fame Award and the 2012 Tom Hopkins AGC Excellence Award in M&A.

His work is personal. César lost his mother, father and sister to cancer within eight years, and that loss is why diagnostics and patient care have stayed close to his heart throughout his career.

At itracHEALTH he is the principal inventor of the eNURSE Personal Health Assistant and leads the company's work on technology that helps people with several chronic conditions age in place. In April 2025 he spoke on home care as a high-complexity care environment at the Age Tech Symposium of the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology.
